Spring Cleaning and Wine Walks......

Building a new house means its time to get your current one ready to sell.  My goal is to take 1 room per  week and give it a good overhaul and spring cleaning.  I started last week in Hudson's room.  His closet looked just like the room on that show called Hoarders.  It was bad and I'm mad at myself for not getting a before picture.  Here is a picture once I pulled most of it out and started sorting through it.  I donated a TON and had several bags full of trash to toss out.

He can actually get to his clothes now.

We had a few big storms last week.  I love to use oils on my dog and on us.  A drop of Peace and Calming in my hands.....then I just gave him a good rub down and he was chill the rest of the evening.

A month or so ago at Cooper's school carnival, we won the "Craft time with Mrs. L" at the silent auction.  Last Thursday, Cooper stayed after school to make a craft with his teacher.  This was perfect because he loves art.  He made this sweet flower picture board for me.

Cooper and I finished another puzzle.  We have a lot of fun doing these together!

We are currently caught up.......which means I need to find another puzzle at the store this week so we can start a new one. :)

On Saturday, sweet boy and I went to the Wine Walk with some family.

The guys showed up looking like Twinkies.

Grabbing lunch before we start.

Love this bunch.

The weather was awesome.......last year it was miserably hot.  It was cloudy and cool and so much more enjoyable.

Last year, Julie and I found a bubbly almond wine that we loved.  We searched high and low for the booth this year and we finally found it!  Yum!!!

Until next year........

Yummy Recipes and other stuff

I'm always looking for healthy snacks for my family.  I made these Chocolate Chip Protein bites last week and they turned out really yummy!

Chocolate Chip Protein Bites

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Organic Quick Cooking Oats
  • 2 Tablespoons Organic Ground Flax Seed
  • 3 scoops of Young Living's Pure Protein Complete- Vanilla Spice
  • 1 cup Organic Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 2 Tablespoons Almond Milk
  • 1/4-1/2 cup Enjoy Life Mini Chocolate Chips

Directions:
  1. In a large bowl, mix your oats, flax seed and protein powder together using a fork.
  2. Add your peanut butter and honey.
  3. Mix to incorporate.
  4. Then add your almond milk. You may need to adjust the amount of almond milk, as you will need your "dough" to be moldable but not too moist.
  5. Lastly add your chocolate chips and mix until evenly distributed.
  6. Shape into the size balls you would like and place on parchment paper. Leave set for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Store in a container in the fridge.
  8. Enjoy!!

Enjoying a walk around the neighborhood with my little guy.

Saw this lizard on the way home.....

After lunch, Cooper asked me what pickle juice taste like.  I poured a bit in a cup and let him try it.....

Hahahahaha!  He cracks me up.

We've been up to our eyeballs with house stuff.  Making the final tweaks on the plans and the permits will get pulled soon.

This weekend I made some Ningxia Red Gummies. They turned out SO good!

Ningxia Red Gummies:
* 1/4 cup Ningxia red
* 1/4 cup organic juice- not from concentrate
* 3 teaspoons Great Lakes gelatin (reddish/orange can)
* 4-6 drops Young Living orange essential oil.
1/4 teaspoon raw honey
Whisk juice and gelatin in a saucepan on low heat until gelatin is dissolved. Remove from heat. Whisk in honey, Ningxia Red and the orange essential oil. Pour into molds and cool in the refrigerator for an hour. Pop gummies out into a container. Store in refrigerator.

Back in the fall we bought a really pretty buffet table for a spot in our house.  When the guys came to deliver it, we realized that it would not fit in the place we were wanting it to go. We ended up putting it in our living room for now.....with the intention of putting it in our dining room at our next house.  Last month, the furniture store where we bought the buffet announced they were going out of business.   We decided to go and buy the dining room table to match.  It got delivered on Saturday....we took one quick look at it and then loaded it in our storage unit.  Boo. I'm ready to use it but we don't have room here.  I guess the good news is that it will feel like Christmas when we open the storage up and pull all the stuff out.

Cooper is still enjoying baseball.  His team lost this last game but the boys still had a good time!

We are starting to do some things around here to get our house ready to sell.   We decided to take the play set down so that we can get the back yard spruced up.  We found a family that could use it.......so we are offering it to them.  Lots of emotions for me since Jason put this together for the boys.

Not sure about you but I'm so tired of hearing about Prince and I'm tired of hearing about the Target bathroom situation.  Yes, Prince was super talented.  Yes, its very sad that he died.  But some people are taking it way too far.  Seriously. people- he was weird.  As for the Target bathroom thing......while I definitely don't agree with the decision that Target made, how about we all agree to use the potty at home before we shop?

This made me laugh when I saw this today!

Houston

This guy is having fun with baseball.  Still has a way to go with his skills but he's enjoying himself and that is all I can ask for!

Last week, we had our first 8pm game on a school night.  Week day games equals a very tired boy the next day.  Cooper is my morning kid.  He jumps out of bed easily and with a smile on his face.  I knew he was tired when I had to go back in 3 more times to get him up.

Speaking of baseball.....I have been using my Young Living products on his white baseball pants.  We don't use any "Shout" type products or chemicals so I rely on my natural stuff.  Working good so far!

Last Friday, I made my way to the Houston area to teach some Young Living classes.  I always try to be prepared in the car because its nearly impossible to find real "food" along the way. (without stopping for a full meal)  So I run by my favorite local juice bar and pick up some healthy snacks.

I always see some weird people on my drives.  This guy had his leg out the window for a very long time.  I have no idea how his leg didn't fall asleep.

Yummy dinners!

So if you have listened to the news at all then you have heard about all the crazy floods in Houston.  Yea, I got stuck in all that!

I wasn't able to leave on Monday like I planned.  Most of the roads around me were shut down and I was stuck in my hotel.  A hotel that does not have a restaurant so this was the only food I could get.  Fun times.

There was a small break in the rain on Tuesday morning so I took my chances and got out of town without any problems.  On my way back, I needed gas and a restroom break......so I pulled into my first Buc-ee's.

Rows and rows of clean restrooms.

I wish I had taken more pictures of the awesome ladies I got to hang out with over the weekend.  These are 2 great leaders on my team......Miriam and Rhonda......that are loving Young Living and they are sharing it with all their family and friends.

GNO and Big Bend

Last week, I had a fun girls night out with these ladies.  We all used to go to church together but now we are all spread out and don't see each other as often.  Love getting to catch up with them.

Anyone watch The Walking Dead?  Yea, not sure what to think of that finale.  Wish they had given us more.

Cooper had another game last Friday night and then pictures early Saturday morning.  Can't wait to see how they turned out!

Last week, Hudson went on a class trip to Big Bend National Park.  We left at 5:30am to get him to school to load the bus.

And even though I asked him to take some pictures......he didn't.  So this web image will have to do! :)
