Easter Weekend

Last week I saw all sorts of funny memes on Facebook in regards to the United ordeal.  These made me laugh!!

I think this is a good perspective on the situation.  Remember that the media wants us to see it one way.

At Bed Bath & Beyond last week, Shawn got sucked into the Baseboard Buddy.  We had painters coming to repaint all our baseboards (because of the wood floor debacle) and we wanted to make sure they were clean.

He makes me laugh!

I finally got those pretty flowers planted.

For Easter weekend, we decided to make the 3 hour trip out to his sister's land to spend time with family.  We hit Redbox to get a movie for the boys......

......and coffee for me.......and we were ready to go!

I love so much that my boys now have cousins to play and grow up with.  While we don't get to see them all the time, its great to get them together when we can.

Fishing!

It was so peaceful there.

Hudson has a thing with walking sticks.  He finds them and just loves walking around with them.  He went "fishing" for some lake greenery!

Then the boys all went hog hunting.  They got one and brought it back.  My boys witnessed the skinning and cutting up of a pig.  The boys were carrying around the heart and head and I stayed inside.  Gross.  The boys loved it though.

Trying to wind down for bed.  Everyone is clean so we started watching a movie but none of us made it.  Long day so everyone was tired. 

The next day, Shawn's parents had a huge pile of trees and trash that they needed to burn.  Little did we know that a bunny den was under the trees and this little guy got burned pretty bad.  Do you see the little leg cast that Hudson made him?

The boys made him a little home with grass and water.

Hudson was designing a little water system for him.  Love watching this kid use his imagination.

While the boys were in the shop, the Easter bunny came to visit.

Back inside to see what they got.  I think the $1 bills were the crowd favorite.

Setting off on another adventure before we had to leave.  It was a short trip but lots of fun memories were made!

Random Stuff

The weather has been so nice here lately.  I'm trying to enjoy it as much as I can because pretty soon, its going to be hot, hot, hot!

We've been going to market the last few weeks to get some things for our house.  Excited to see it arrive over the next few months.

This last weekend, we ordered an outside patio set....that gets delivered today.  I decided to plant some herbs to see if I can keep them alive.  Ha!  My mom is the BEST gardener ever.....and I did not inherent her abilities.

I got a lemon tree......

.....and a lime tree.  No idea if these things will grow and produce but I wanted to give them a try.

A friend of mine was having a fundraiser for her son's cub scout group  so I bought some flats for the front yard.  Praying I can keep them alive!

Just sold our patio set yesterday to some old neighbor friends.  Wanting to make this space more "lounge" than eating.

Ordered this rug for my patio.  It makes me happy!

Cooper had to do a Science Fair experiment for school.  Unfortunately, we got the info right when we were about to move and then moving and our trip......so we slapped some stuff on a board and called it a day.

Got this picture the other day from the cruise.  We don't get dressed up that often so its fun to have a nicer picture of us.

DIY Bentonite Clay Mask

Facial masks are all the rage these days.  However, its hard to find one that doesn't contain a long list of words that you can't pronounce.

This one contains raw Apple Cider Vinegar, bentonite clay, and essential oils.  That's it!

Put 10 teaspoons of bentonite clay into a small bowl.

Shake your apple cider vinegar up really good so that you swish the "mother" around a bit.  Add 8-9 teaspoons to the clay and stir.  Adjust the ACV and clay, depending on how thick you want it.  It will bubble up a bit while you are stirring and that is normal.

Next, take some essential oils that are good for the skin.  I chose Frankincense, Tea Tree, and Patchouli.  You could also use Lavender, Gentle Baby, Sandalwood, Rose or Myrrh.  There are so many possibilities.

I used 10 drops of Frankincense + 8 drops of Tea Tree + 6 drops of Patchouli.

Then use a fan brush or just your fingers and apply all over your face and neck.

Leave it on for about 15-20 minutes.  It will harden and you may feel a little bit of tingling.  Remove with warm water.  Your face will feel firm and baby smooth once you are finished.  I plan to use this once week.

There you have it......a very simple, affordable and safe way to make your own face mask.

Young Living Leadership Cruise

Shawn and I just got back from the Young Living Leadership Cruise.  What a great time!

They flew us to Tampa and we boarded the Norwegian Jade ship.

One thing I LOVE about earning Young Living trips is all the awesome swag they give us!  Backpacks, shirts, sunglasses, waterproof phone cases, oils, and more.

The entire ship was Young Living members and staff so they decked the ship out with all the Young Living favorites.  One thing I especially loved was the fact that they removed all the Purell hand purifier stations and replaced them with Thieves purifier.  They know how to take such good care of us.

At all the bars they had Ningxia Red for purchase.

2 years ago when Shawn and I earned the Europe leadership cruise, we met these sweet ladies.  It was so fun to be reunited.

I met Laura a couple years ago at the Platinum trip in Ecuador.  We both sported our red Carley's for Ningxia Night so we had to get a photo.

I met Darlene in Ecuador as well.  Such a sweetie!

It was so fun to go back to our rooms and find other goodies throughout the trip.

The gave us a demonstration of how orange oil is distilled.

First stop was in Honduras.  We spent the day at Little French Key.  It was amazing!

Enjoying our lunch on the water. We met Leah and Daniel in Ecuador as well.  I love going on these trips because you get to hang with the nicest people ever.

In fact, I sat on this chair, with this drink for several hours.  It was heaven.

  

That night for dinner, we ate at a Brazilian restaurant on board.  You know, the kind where they keep bringing you all kinds of meat.

You keep this card on green when you want the meat to keep coming.....and then you flip it over to red when you are finished.  I am not a huge meat eater but the sides and salad bar were really yummy!

The next morning we took the tender to Belize.

After a city tour, we headed to the Rum factory.

We learned about the distillation process and sampled all kinds of different rums.  Yum!

Fun day and heading back to the port.

As we got back on the ship.....they handed us a cold, lavender oil infused towel for our necks.  They honestly think of everything.

We were so blessed that one of our team members earned this trip too.  Beth lives in Pennsylvania but she is a ROCKSTAR.

We had such a great time hanging out with them this week.

Later that evening we ran into so strong winds and our boat was rocking back and forth really bad.  At dinner, a huge plate of dishes slid off the tray and everyone felt pretty yuck.  You know its a bad sign when they have barf bags in the stair wells.
