All House

So our house is a crazy construction zone still but I tried to snap some pics over the last couple of weeks. Its crazy that its already changed some since these were taken.  We are getting so close.....yet still very far away.   They are saying February sometime.

My farm sink was installed a few weeks ago and I am IN LOVE.  I am excited about the single basin and just the overall look is so so pretty.

Working on the back splash.  It now has grout......which changes the entire look.  I don't have current pictures of that yet.

I'm pretty much obsessed with this decorative back splash.  It turned out exactly how I had it pictured in my head.

I think its starting to look nice.....we still have the chocolate glaze to do on all the cabinets and the appliances change it up a bit too.  But it's coming together!

Cabinets will have a glaze like this.  This will really pull it all together.

Our guest bathroom.  Looks different now with the grout. I love that decorative band going around.

The shower in the boys "Jack and Jill" bathroom.

Once this is cleaned up, I think this will look great!

Shower in our upstairs bathroom.

We've had several bumps in the road with this build.  I still haven't had the energy to document our kitchen granite issue.....but this one was an easy, but expensive fix.  The tile we picked originally for the upstairs bath and also the boys Jack and Jill bath was HORRIBLE.  You know how it goes when you are picking these things out- you see 1-2 tiles in the showroom.  No grout and weird lighting.  What they didn't tell us is that this tile has a lot of variety and the 2 we happened to see that day were very "calm."  The coloring on those 2 were also more brown so we thought we had made a good choice.  Once they started installing the tile in the upstairs bath, I immediately knew it was wrong.  It was very busy and many of the tiles were an orange shade.  It was just ugly.  We halted the work and had to make a different selection.....costing us a bit of time, a hefty restocking fee, and labor for them to remove what they had already laid down.  Thankfully, they had not done a ton.

Here is what we originally picked.  Honestly, these pics don't do it justice and it doesn't show how orange it really is.

We swapped it out for this tile and its SOOO much better.

Meanwhile......back home......we are starting to pack.  I am selling things like crazy.  Sold our kitchen table, bakers rack and bar stools the other day.   So, we get to eat on this for the next couple of weeks.  I'm pulling things off the walls and listing that on local FB sale sights.  My house is an absolute disaster.

We had a couple of friends give us some moving boxes so I'm not sure who wrote this but in the midst of craziness yesterday, I got so tickled when I saw the label on this box.  Ha!

Movers come on Jan 12 and we hand the keys over on the 13th.  We are living in a furnished apartment for about 3-4 weeks until our house is finished.

Christmas Recap

Whew!  We've had a busy week or so.  Here is what we've been up to:

Cronko came and went.  While I love that I still have a little one that loves finding him each day.....I can honestly say that I'm glad to be finished for the year.

As you can see......we forgot to move him one night.

The weather here has been super crazy.  A week or so ago, it was FREEZING.  Abnormally cold.

Then a few days before Christmas we had some sort of heat wave blow in and we literally turned our AC back on.  It definitely did not "feel" like Christmas.

My mom is leaving for another trip and will be gone a few months so the boys went and stayed a few days with her before Christmas.  They baked cookies....

raked leaves and cleaned the yard of one of the elderly neighbors......

and made their annual gingerbread house.

Meanwhile, I had my annual Christmas lunch with my college roommates.  We are all spread out over the DFW area so we don't get together as much as we would like but we ALWAYS make a point to meet at Christmas.  Love these ladies!

Christmas Eve night with extended family.....

We got home and Cooper made sure to sprinkle the reindeer food on the lawn.

Since we are about to move and we only got the tree and stockings out this year, we didn't have our official Milk and Cookies for Santa plates to use.  But we still made sure to leave something.

Cooper was excited to use his Mentos and create the geyser......

Christmas Day was at our house.  Our last Christmas here.  I can't even spend much time thinking about that or I will get really sad.

Family time wouldn't be complete without a round of Bean Boozled.  Ha!

Hope you guys had a Merry Christmas!

No Pictures

Last Thursday, we attended a Christmas musical at our church.  It was a big production.  Very cute!

Both of my boys had early release last Friday.  Hudson had finals and Cooper had his last Christmas party.  Next year in middle school they don't have parties anymore.  I'm pretty sure he wants to stay in 5th grade forever!  Here is Cooper and his friend, Colton.

Back in high school I used to wear big earrings.  One day, I was at a pep rally after school and one of my friends put her arm around my shoulder, accidentally caught my hair and dangle earring, and pulled them down. My ear lobe tore pretty good and that ended my "dangle" earring era.  For years and years, I've mostly just worn studs or earrings with a post.  A couple of weeks ago, my dad asked me what I wanted for my birthday.  I asked for a Kendra Scott necklace and he wanted to get the matching earrings too.  I stumbled on these and decided to order them.  Friends, they are amazing!  They keep my lobes from sagging and hold the earring up high.  So excited!

On Friday night, we had Christmas dinner with Jason's dad.  And I took zero pictures.  Cooper got this destiny set that he's been asking for.  We got home late that night and the next morning he told me that he stayed up until 4:30 am putting it all together.  Crazy kid!

Brick and stone are almost done.  This isn't exactly the color we thought we were getting but the brick guys ensure us that once they spray that stuff on it and clean everything up that it will be what we originally picked.  We shall see!

On Saturday, we went to Shawn's parents for Christmas.  And once again......no pictures.  I mean, these don't even count.  This will go down as the laziest Christmas ever for me!

On Sunday, we took the boys to Jason's step-mom's house.  These kids are getting so big!  And Hudson has officially passed all of them up on height.

They spent the night with her.  They ate Mexican food, hung out, decorated ornaments and played some games.

Back at our house, Shawn and I had a nice dinner out and then came home to watch Christmas Vacation.  (my request)

Monday night, I got a text from my sweet friend, Tori.  She wanted to meet for dinner and to talk.....which was great because she also happens to be our salesperson for our new house. So we usually only talk about that.  I love getting to hang out and talk about something OTHER than my house.

Last night, we took the boys to see Rogue One.  They all liked it.  It was just okay for me.
