Colorado Days 3 and 4

You can't see very well but the dark things in the center of the picture are 2 moose laying in the grass.  Pretty cool.

On day 3, we got up pretty early in order to head to Bear Lake.  We were told that the parking lot is full before 9 am so we got there around 8:30 and managed to grab a spot.  The weather was perfect and there was a ton of shade on our hike.  We hiked for a few hours and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

 Love it!

Lots of little chipmunks running around.
Do you see the little chipmunk right by Shawn's elbow?  He's perched up on the rock.  It was too funny....like he wanted in the pic too.
The park ranger gave the boys a Jr. Ranger book to look at and they had different plants and animals to find on the hike.  Cooper took this quite serious.

Cooper was sort of obsessed with taking pictures.  You can see that he still struggles to hold the camera straight......but he loved it so I couldn't say no.

 Weird tree roots
Taking a little rest.  We are Cooper's test subjects.

Love Colorado.  Seriously didn't want to leave.

After hiking to Bear Lake, we headed back to Estes and decided to ride the aerial tram to the top.

 Very pretty views.

Day 4 we decided to hit some of the shops on the strip. I stumbled on this taffy and it was by far the BEST I've ever had.  There are several places that offer taffy but this place makes it fresh daily.  It literally melted in your mouth.  It wasn't hard and sticky like some places.  I'm tempted to call and order and beg them to mail more to me.  Soooo good!

Going fishing.  They didn't catch anything but had fun anyways.

We left Estes and made our way to Fort Collins.  We stopped by this pretty park in Loveland on our way.  The boys had fun and the weather was amazing.

We checked into our hotel and decided to let the boys swim for a bit.  The pool was TINY.....not even sure it even counts as a pool but they had fun anyways.
One of my best friends from college....Amy (aka: Gim)....her mom also lives in Fort Collins so we decided to hang out with them one night.  They had us over and cooked out and we ate out on the patio and got to catch up with them.  So fun!  Love my Phyllis!!
