Colorado: Days 1 and 2

When traveling with small kids it's super important to be organized and prepared.  For the last several weeks, I've been looking for items to put inside each boys' backpack.  They had their own gum, their own snacks and their own activities.  This came in handy on the plane and any time we had down time.

We had a 6:20am flight and because we gained an hour there, we got into Denver about 7:20am.  That meant that we had pretty much the full day on Saturday.
We got our rental car and made the drive through Boulder and up into Estes Park.

Eating lunch.  We quickly realized that not all Mexican food is created equal. :(

 Visiting the Stanley Hotel

 Lots of "Shining" memorabilia

 Checking out the fish tank

We found a little Putt Putt place.  The boys loved it!

 Going through the cave

We stumbled on a chocolate factory......
....and got a yummy toffee caramel apple.
One of the views from our deck
We stayed at Solitude Cabins.......which we LOVED. I hope we get to go back sometime.

On Day 2 we decided to explore Rocky Mountain National Park.

 So pretty!

The boys thought it was so cool that we found snow.
It was pretty cold up top!

Loved getting to see all the wild life.
 Eating lunch in Grand Lake.

 Grand Lake is beautiful.

Back in Estes.....we found a rock shop to explore.

The rock shop is located right along this little creek. So pretty!

So many neat things to look at.

Great pics! And yes, mexican food in Colorado is definitely not like mexican food here! One place we went didn't have queso, and they didn't know what I was asking for either! LOL
