Life and Updates

Taking advantage of the pretty days when we get them.  Our weather as been ALL over the place the last few weeks.  Seriously, it has been in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's at one point this week.  #reasoneveryoneissick

Feeding the ducks

I will definitely miss these sunsets when we move.  Beautiful!

When your parents take you furniture shopping and you are bored....you ride the mechanical horse, of course!

This apartment offers ZERO privacy.  Its a loft.....here I am laying in my bed while Shawn is downstairs making the boys breakfast and packing lunches.  I'm so ready to get settled in our new home.

And this little light is still on.  We have had maintenance out to look it over and each time they swear they have fixed it.  I guess since it's been a month now I can relax and know that I won't burn the place down.

Catching a Friday movie with my guy.  Have you seen John Wick 2?  It's really good!  Watch the first one and then go and see this one.

We got sod a few days ago.

Digging holes for the trees.

Fences are up.

Sprinkler system and French drain are in.

Ready to sod the front.

Cooper is still enjoying basketball.  I know that he is enjoying the sport and learning some new skills but my boy is loving the social aspect of it too.  I couldn't help but giggle as I watched him on the sideline (they rotate the kids in and out) as he talked this kids ear off.  This kid is SERIOUS about basketball and I'm pretty sure he just wanted to watch the game.

If you were to ask my boys if they are ready to move......I 100% know they would tell you that they are so sick of going to look at it.  I'm with ya, boys.  We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Kind of sad that this is the last year I have an elementary kid that needs a Valentine's Day box.

The finished product.  I think we did pretty good!

Ha!  I saw this on FB yesterday and got a chuckle from it.  Thank you Jesus that I have a hubby that gets all of our stuff to a fabulous CPA and I don't have to really mess with it.

Our appliances are starting to arrive.  The glaze on the cabinets should be starting soon too.

Random Stuff

Last week we got sidewalks and a driveway!

It was really neat to watch how they do this.

Coopie still learning some basketball.....

Went to a funeral for a friend last week.  Unexpected.  Too young.  So hard to see my friends hurting.  It felt really weird to wear a Star Wars shirt to a funeral but I know that C would have loved it.

As much as I don't love this apartment....I do love working and seeing this view.

They started and completed our fences this past week.

They started and finished scraping and staining our wood floors.

Shawn and I went to market on Friday to start shopping for the house.  This is a sneak peak of the table we bought....

.....and some of the fabrics for the kitchen area.

Saw this on Facebook the other day and cracked up!!

Last night we took the boys to eat Hibachi at a new-to-us restaurant close by.

Simple Updates

I saw this on Facebook last week and it made me laugh.  I posted it and was shocked that all my friends pegged me as #1.  I will admit that I am a huge #2 and it drives my husband crazy.  Even my 13 year old has to get on me about all the updates that are waiting for me in my app store.

This is my real phone.  I have no idea how I am current on my emails because my laptop has over 8000 unread emails.  Ha!

Our apartment is across from walking trails and a little body of water.  Last week, Cooper and I found a beautiful afternoon and went for a walk.

Our house is finally making progress.  I am cautious about how much to share here because I am not exactly sure who reads my blog.  Circles can be small and sometimes we all know someone that knows someone in our life.  Without going into too much detail I will say that this has been a horrific experience.  Not because the builder we chose was bad.  Not because we don't completely believe that at the end of this we will love our home.  Our foreman has been a nightmare to deal with and the stories I could share on here would make you shake your head and would cause you to have some bad words roll off your tongue.  We made a decision about 2 weeks ago to no longer work with him.  We have requested that his boss take over and that we only address our concerns with him.  A HUGE weight has been lifted off our shoulders.  Huge.  People are actually showing up at our house and getting things done.  And when things are done wrong, they are simply fixed.....instead of us having to beg and convince that something is not done correctly.  We should have done this long time ago!

Starting the inside fireplace.

Finishing up on the outside fireplace.

Super messy around there!

The top part is still wet but its getting closer.... I'm excited for the mantle to come.

Oh my word......this looks so dangerous.

Last night, Cooper's school had a "read-in" where every teacher read a book and dressed like a character from the story.  The kids could pop in and out of the classrooms and listen.  It was really cute.  They had milk and cookies afterwards.

Then we went straight to basketball practice.  This guy has been a bit frustrated with not knowing and understanding all the rules.  I'm praying he picks it up quickly and has confidence in this area.
